[SLE] Linux friendly phone wiring & wireless LANs
Anyone have any experience with the phone wiring and/or wireless home LAN cards under 2.2.x Linux. I need an ISA card (parallel port second choice) for an older computer, a PCI or ISA card for the new computer, and maybe a PCMCIA card for the laptop. We moved into a new house and the two desktops are at opposite ends of the house. I'd rather not drill and snake cable between the two. The ZoomAir products at http://www.zoom.com/networking.html (Zoom Telephonics) seem to work, though they're a bear to configure. The device itself is a PCMCIA card, and it comes with an ISA adapter for mounting inside a desktop PC. Also, from the kernel configuration, under `Network Device Support': [*] Wireless LAN (non-hamradio) < > STRIP (Metricom starmode radio IP) (NEW) < > AT&T WaveLAN & DEC RoamAbout DS support (NEW) < > Aironet Arlan 655 & IC2200 DS support (NEW) I've never seen these in action though; I can only account for the Zoom. -- -=|JP|=- "Why, oh, why didn't I take the blue pill?"
