RE: [SLE] Normal user can't get to internet
Thanks to all that replied - I have been out of town, so am very
late in responding!! What fixed it was adding "nameserver" plus the
IP address to my resolv.conf. What I don't understand is, why do I
have to do this for a normal user, but not for root? Especially since
this data is entered during the kppp setup?
Just curious...

Subject: Re: [SLE] Normal user can't get to internet
Hi,
Have you tried 'chmod u+s /usr/local/wvdial' as root?
Regards,
Jostein
I have seen this before, but I can't remember (or find) how to fix it. If I log in as root, I can browse anywhere just fine. If I log in as a user, I can't get anywhere (either with Konqueror or Netscape). I keep getting "Can't find server", or "Server Unknown" messages. ??? I can log on to my ISP just fine, but that's it....
Can anyone remind me how to fix this?
TIA,
