I just refreshed it and there was no complains for openSUSE 11.1. The URL is: http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.1 -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I have tried that URL! When I try it I get the following Firefox error: File Not Found Firefox can't find the file at http://http.download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.1. * Could the item have been renamed, removed, or relocated? * Is there a spelling, capitalization, or other typographical error in the address? * Do you have sufficient access permissions to the requested item? I do not get a yast complaint either, but putting the URL in firefox does not seem to work. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

That link doesn't work in any browser. It is just zypper/YaST link. There is 2 ways to use browser: HTTP: http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html HTTP: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us This is better to use Konqueror: FTP: ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/ -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks, that explains why it would not work in a browser... Now my question becomes, I currently have nvidia version 180.29 of the driver installed. The nvidia download page indicates the latest version is 180.44 but this does not appear as a package update choice for me in yast. I see this same version is indeed in the nvidia repository as well, but short of manually installing it, why is yast not picking it up? Perhaps the same reason as me, your card is not supported by the newer driver. You need to supply all of the info for more accurate help. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It is simple there is no version provided as rpm. Our packager either has problem with newer driver because last kernel update changed kABI (kernel Application Binary Interface) so driver should be adjusted, or he has no time to build package. Nvidia doesn't create packages, they just provide what other create. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If you are adventurous, you can go here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=122606 to get the latest stable, or latest Beta build (manual install). I'm using 185.13 right now... seems to working OK. C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
