Hello, When I installed SuSE-8.2 I had first the bad surprise to see that I had no more bash history (up and down keys). Then bash history was effective again but I could not recall some instructions. Now I always have the same history list of instructions. ~/.bash_history exists but is not appended anymore. How can I restore the bash history-list appending? Which configuration script do I have to check? -- Alain Barthélemy cassandre@bartydeux.be http://www.bartydeux.be Linux User #315631

Start with the Administration guide suggestion on page 267. (Shortly: use files from the /etc/skel directory.) -- A.M.
