[opensuse] Centrino dual, 1Ghz speed to 1.6Ghz, howto?
Hi list, - I'm on openSuSE11.1 on my DELL Precision M90, all (nearly) all is good. Except when I check (using KDE) for hardware info, I get that the CPU's are 1.6Ghz (at which speed the dual kernel used to run under 10.3), but I can't seem to get them to run faster that 1Ghz. Any hints? -- ------------------------------ Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard Novell Certified Linux Professional 10035701 Linux Counter no 114954 ------------------------------ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

cpufreq-set from cpufrequtils is what I use to boost my cpu when it strangely decides to run at 1G instead of 2,2G like it is supposed to. Hi list, - just tried "cpufreq-set -d 1.6GHz" - this WORKED! My DELL is back to normal high speed, it simply feels and shows :-) Now, I'd like to keep it that way...what would be the best approach? And oh...thanks A LOT for all answers. In fact; question asked, answered and problem solved in less than 3 minutes. Thanks again! -- ------------------------------ Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Aren't they running in powersave mode? If you start something very CPU hungry, don't they speed up? Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi, no I've never ever seen the CPU run at 1.6Ghz under openSuSE11.1 -- ------------------------------ Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
