man bash /PS1
I modified my .bashrc file with a: PS1="ei:~ >" but when I cd around it doesn't tell me which folder I am in anymore, how can I fix that?
Cheers,
ei

OK, to be honest sometimes I just feel plain stupid when I try to read the man pages, many of them are just too cryptic. But now I actually found the solution somewhere in the middle of man bash 6000 lines of text. PS1="ei:\w >" did the trick. Cheers, ei On Wednesday 31 January 2001 13:19, Cliff Sarginson wrote:
