this looks right, mine is: lp -s -desp925gp -oraw for an Epson Stylus Photo 925

Did you select the "HP DeskJet 900 series" or did you choose a PPD file and if you choose a PPD file, which one?

... I don't remember. I think I set it during installation and selected "HP Deskjet 900 Series" because the PPD window in Printer Setup is blank.

Patrick - I just noticed that the print window is labeled "Print v4.2" As to the parameters, most of what I see has to do with dimensions, image type (photograph), output type (color or grayscale), borders, scale, borders, etc. Whhat should I be looking for? click on 'setup printer' just below 'Printer Model:' and select 'HP DeskJet 900 series'

Select all the *normal* settings that you would use for printing photographs/graphics and select 'Save Settings' at the bottom center of the print dialog window.

Then try again to print a photo/graphic and, please, post your hopefully positive results.

Patrick - It worked! But, trouble is, the printer selection and the settings were the same as before. The only thing that I can see that I did differently this time is that I clicked on the "Save Settings" button. I guess that what I was doing was glancing at whatever settings were there and, since they had not changed, assumed that I didn't need to save the settings if I had not changed them. But it should say 'HP DeskJet 900 Series' instead of 'Postscript Level 2' and, I believe that that was your problem. If it *doesn't* say 'HP ...' then you will probably have problems the next time.

You're right. It did change from PostScript to HP DeskJet 900 series.

Well, you're getting there. Now instead of being 31 days off, you've reduced it to 30 days. The easiest way to keep your clock in sync, is to use ntp and connect to an atomic clock. I run ntpd on my desktop system, which keeps it in sync and on my notebook, I can manually call the time server, when connected to the internet.
