As with quite a few members on this list, try disabling ACPI. When the pc boots and Grub screen appears, type in "acpi=off" and continue booting. Try this first.

As the poster said originally he could connect until he rebooted the machine. It sounds more likely that the default is not set correctly. I would check those settings first. -- Ken Schneider linux user since 1994 SuSE user since 1998

Does ping fail for local subnet connected host or it just fails for say Internet connection. If it fail for Internet destinations check your default gateway/route settings ... netstat -rn Martin --- ovidiu pascui wrote:

What exactly did you had in mind with "default is not set correctly"? I use epic100 for this card.
