Hi; when you ping, after a while you get the ping statistics. My PC doesn't stop pinging so I don't get the results. tracerouting is no problem. Also with ping -n I have trouble. Help,somebody... I know that in MS-DOS the PC pings 4 times, but why in Linux SuSe 7.0 so many times? Jean-Paul Faessen

If you want ping to just run a certain amount of pings, use "ping -c <amount> <host>" - "man ping" will tell you more.
