No dictionaries in Evolution
Running SuSE 8.2 with packaged install of Oo and Evo. Spell checking works fine in Oo but I can't get any spell checking working in Evo. I have apsell and ispell installed. When I go to the Settings-Composer Preferences-Spell Checking section in Evo there are no dictionaries listed for me to enable. Just a big blank empty box waiting to be filled with dictionary goodness. "Check spelling while I type" is checked, not that it does anything. Any ideas? _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Get 2 months FREE*. http://join.msn.com/?page=features/featuredemail

You need a GNOME1 version of gnome-spell and an aspell dictionary appropriate for your LOCALE. However, SuSE do not include gnome-spell, or the English aspell dictionaries. You can get the latter from www.usr-local-bin.org/deps.php but the former is no longer available from the site, because Evolution has now been updated to a GNOME2 version. This, and the version of gnome-spell appropriate for it are also available from www.usr-local-bin.org Alternatively, if you click on the archive link, you should be able to find an 0.5 version of gnome-spell which would work with the (now old) version of Evolution included with SuSE 8.2. -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.2).
