I am checking the Xfree86 log and it does not load any TV tuner drivers.
XawTV errors out w/ /dev/video error.

I have added Load "v4l" to my Xfree86config file. I also compiled XawTV 3.49. When I restart the X server and check the log file it does not show any TV card capability.
What log file are you refeering to? /var/log/messages or
/var/log/XFree86.0.log.
Look in /var/log/XFree86.0.log for the load of modules like fi1236 or
msp3430
they are LiViD's drivers specific modules.
Anyway, did you try to launch XawTV? If yes, what does it says?

So, are you sure that you installed correctly the LiViD drivers and which driver
are you using in the XF86 config file's device section for your card?
