Re: [SLE] Yast worthless for printer config?
Hello,
do you have Samba set up properly. I can't print
at work via our network. I use Linux. Most use
Windows. I'm preparing to configure Samba. Without
it, I don't think you can print from a Linux box via a
Windows Network. It's not Yast(s) fault.

I am finding the using Yast or Yast2 are worthless for adding network printers as the only choices I get are for serial or parallel printers. Any thoughts here?

I agree George.
My Parallel port died on the Linux box, so I dug out a couple of old
10mbps network cards.
Set up the boxes to see each other (Samba, because the other one is a
Windogz box) and 'hey presto', 15 minutes after the port died, I was
printing again!
PS. Has anyone else noticed that the output from gs, via a win based
printer, looks better quality than the same file output from a win box?
Just seems a bit "sharper", is all.
