[opensuse] kdelibs3-devel package broken (rpm allowing multiple versions and duplicates to be installed)
Listmates, Here is a strange one: [22:59 nemesis:/home/david/linux/mysql] # rpm -qa | grep kdelibs3 | sort kdelibs3-3.5.10-61.1 kdelibs3-arts-3.5.10-61.1 kdelibs3-default-style-3.5.10-61.1 kdelibs3-devel-3.5.10-54.1 kdelibs3-devel-3.5.10-54.1 kdelibs3-devel-3.5.10-55.4 kdelibs3-devel-3.5.10-58.1 kdelibs3-devel-3.5.10-61.1 kdelibs3-devel-3.5.10-61.1 kdelibs3-devel-3.5.10-61.1 kdelibs3-devel-doc-3.5.10-62.1 kdelibs3-doc-3.5.10-61.1 There seems to be an abundance of kdelib3-devel packages. What's to blame? post-install script? You will need to use: for i in $(rpm -qa | grep kdelibs3-devel); do \ rpm -e --nodeps --allmatches $i; done to get rid to the multiple packages before you reinstall (kdevelop3 dependency). What could have caused the multiple versions to get installed to begin with? The --force option has never been used and I don't recall any update errors. Strange... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Nothing, this behaviour is in itself correct, however, there may be bugs in the pre-post install scripts of the package.
What could have caused the multiple versions to get installed to begin with? The --force
zypper uses --force internally... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
