I'm going to be doing a back up, and I need to know where it is that Kmail stores saved emails or emails.... OK, I've made a folder wher eI put emails sent to me I want to keep, where are they located? I'm used to Mutt where it's a text file with them in your home directory and I can easily back those up, but I just need to know where Kmail stores them.

On my PC (Suse 10.0, KDE 3.5.1) they are here: /home/user/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Switzerland professional photography: http://www.daniel-bauer.com special interest site: http://www.bauer-nudes.com

that's where the config files are, but the MAIL folders, ( tmp, cur, new)with all the actual emails are here: /home/user/Mail -- Paul Cartwright Registered Linux user # 367800

It depends which version of KMail you started out using. I've explained this in the thread 'Transferring Kmail' on this list a couple of weeks ago.. 15th March. Will
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. There were quite a few emails I needed to get backed up and forwarding them wasn't plausible, so thanks a lot :) -Allen
