[opensuse] YaST2 not working but YaST does
In the past couple of days I have noticed that YaST2 will not load anymore on my laptop with openSUSE 11.0 and KDE 4.1.x, but yast does work. When I call YaST2 from the command line this is what I get: SE-03:/home/vendion # yast2 No protocol specified y2controlcenter: cannot connect to X server :0.0 Any clue as to what is going on? -- "We must plan for freedom, and not only for security, if for no other reason than only freedom can make security more secure." I'm calibrating my crystal ball, ;-) so it will help to know if you use openSUSE 11.1 Beta 1 or 2 and GNOME as a desktop. If yes then: Install kdm as login manager and then logout/login. It should work. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I did say that I was using openSUSE 11.0 with KDE 4.1.2 desktop kde4-kdm is installed already, but it does seem to have been a two day problem because today YaST2 is working fine. -- "We must plan for freedom, and not only for security, if for no other reason than only freedom can make security more secure." I don't have handy bug report, but description is the same as the problem in Beta1 where installation of kdm solves it, so I forgot your first sentence where you said what is used and answered. That is the reason for next comment that I need a hammer to "adjust" bad crystal ball :-) -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
