[opensuse] openSUSE Can't See Android Tablets
Hi, I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I got an OTA update to 3.2 and now I can't see any content of the Galaxy Tab. I can't see any files -- all I see is crazy numbers. The device mounts well on Windows. http://www.muktware.com/sites/default/files/images/applications/samsung-tabl... That's probably because the tablet is using MTP.... and there is a Windows driver you probably had to install to mount the tablet See: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2011-11/msg01677.html which has some info and links you can read up on. The Tablet only supports MTP protocol, its not presented as a normal file system. Some help is found by googling "mtp linux" without the quotes. Some info: http://soledadpenades.com/2011/06/12/honeycomb-mtp-and-linux/ http://anythingbutipod.com/2008/03/improved-mtp-support-for-linux/ -- Ubuntu related. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

banshee already uses either libgphoto2 or MTP. The tablet is not really well supported. On Samsung you can use Kies over Air (WLAN) too for instance. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You start Kies over Air on the Samsung device (it is in the application list). It will tell you a URL to open. You open this URL in Firefox or any other webbrowser. Follow the dialogs... It will expose the tablets files etc. in the webbrowser ;) Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
