pin is for the DVD, not for the repo's. Use webpin:

$ webpin vdx 1 results (1 packages) found for "vdx" in openSUSE_102 * devs: Device Files - 10.2 [suse-oss] >> /dev/iseries/vdx3

And webpin itself is in an extra repository. http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tools/openSUSE_10.2/ So much fun finding all the repos it takes to pull together a set of tools.
