Multimedia buttons with acerhk/lineakd
Dear List, After googling a lot, I found info how to give functions for laptop multimedia buttons, and choose for myself the acerhk/lineakd combination. I have an Acer Travelmate 803LMiB, running SUSE 9.1, mostly with KDE 3.2.1. I install the stuff, and it works, but have to load the acerhk driver and lineakd by hand. Could somebody please tell me how to load them on a way during start, that ALL users could use it, and both should run in the background constantly?! (Bytheway after YOU kernel-updates I should recompile and install e.g. the acerhk/synaptics/etc. drivers again and again? This point is still now clear.) I have also two additional buttons, where lineakd reported no signal, so I have no idea on their keycodes. Is that then hopeless to reanimate them under Linux? I have the sound-controll working (only with Kmix not with KAmix), so volume-up, volume-down, mute, and addtitionally the mail and internet buttons: P1 and P2 as it is written on them simply don't work at all. The last question I think is more complex. I had KAmix running, and with lineakd's default EAK_VOLUP/VOLDOWN/MUTE macros I could not get the sound-controll to work with KAmix, always just the PCM-volume changed, not the master, which was queite annoying. I run now Kmix as default, and with the lineakd-kde-plugins it works perfectly via the KMIX_VOLUP... variables. The questions is how to get the system work with KAmix (maybe from command line 'dcop kamix something'?), that somehow the Master-volume should be changed/muted. Actually I tried with the KAMIX_VOLUP... not-exsiting macro, and it didn't work;) Thanks in advance; have a nice day. Peli
