SUSE 9.1 -- Success -- One Question?
Just loaded a PC at the Office with XP and one at home with SuSE 9.1. Both loads were imperfect -- the SuSE 9.1 load took half the time. XP is incorrectly blocking common text file attachments and is otherwise mishandling files of a variety of sorts, including Word trashing Word files from other computers! SuSE 9.1 is having a little trouble with configuring my old MagView VM700E monitor, other than that everything was readily recognized. Question: I copied the Home folder to an external HDD and now would like to recover the address book, mail folders, and bookmarks. (I used Mozilla before and now.) I have tried copying all of the relevant files (at least those I could think of) from the old .Mozilla folder and subfolders to the new SuSE 9.1 folders but still cannot see any of the data Help? -- Blessings ... dmc West Central Florida ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This E-mail was generated using SuSE 9.0 Linux & Mozilla. Check the file owner ID. SuSE 9.1 starts assigning them from 1000, but earlier versions started at 500.

I've done the same thing before and the system seems to allocate the file to root. Just type in the owner of the files using properties in Konqueror when run as root and see if that works.
