Silence on a posted question is usually one of three things... - no one has an answer to your question, and 1486 replies of "I don't know" are useless - your question is lost in the general list noise, so ask again, or rephrase your question - people are annoyed by your attitude on the list and have filtered all your emails to the trash Take your pick which one of the three you think you might be in.... and do something about it. No one here is obligated to answer any question from any list member. I'll stop replying on this topic now... apologies to the other list members for dragging this out. If i may, use the mobile broadband settings in Knetworkmanager. You will need to enter number username password apn save your settings you should be connected now but you may not be able to browse cos it has not picked up the DNS settings yet. To get dns settings at this time time netconfig update -f this should automatically get the dns of your mobile broadband service and you should be ok Jide -- Jide Ogunmekan Executive Director General Data Engineering Services PLC 16, Oshin Street, Kongi Bodija, Ibadan Oyo State Tel: 0700-SKANNET Mobile: 08023130954, 08086132375 Contact Me Chat omeks Signature powered by WiseStamp Jide Ogunmekan 16, Oshin Street Kongi, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State jide.ogunmekan@gmail.com ☎: 08086132375 - 08023130954 My profiles: Contact me: omeks jide.ogunmekan Signature powered by WiseStamp Jide Ogunmekan 16, Oshin Street Kongi, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State jide.ogunmekan@gmail.com ☎: 08086132375 - 08023130954 My profiles: Contact me: omeks jide.ogunmekan Signature powered by WiseStamp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi I've been able to use a 3G usb dongle on my openSUSE 11.4. I used Knetworkmanager which has a mobile interface configuration u (Mobile Broadband). You will need to get details from your mobile broadband provider which i assume you have done since you say you have connected to the network. The problem seems to be getting dns addresses of the provider. I was able to do this using the command netconfig update -f This should populate your /etc/resolve.conf file with the dns setting from the mobile broadband service. to check if your dns is running you can use the command dig www.yahoo.com which should return the addresses of the yahoo servers if dns is up. it would be reasonably gracious of you, to describe the problem and it's resolution - that way in future those of us too dumb to otherwise know, will be able to supply an answer should someone else inquire.
