Commercial distros other than SuSE are supported and marketed in the US primarily as server systems. I would think that I am not unusual in running red hat as well as SuSE on the desktop because I am working on applications which are intended for other than desktop use. I note that redhat and SuSE are practically equal standing in this poll. -- Tim Prince

I think the primary fact to keep in mind with a poll of this sort is that it is in no way reliable in a scientific sense. As most people know, if the sample isn't randomly generated from the proper domain, the outcome will be biased. I suspect that a poll of this kind often reflects more the enthusiasm of a few who may advertise the poll on a mailing list such as this one--nothing wrong with that, I went and voted :) Hence, the outcomes serve more to generate fun than fact. -- Ragnar Steingrimsson | Department of Cognitive Sciences UC-Irvine, SSPA 3151 | Email: ragnar@uci.edu Irvine, CA 92697 | Small Green Men
