[SLE] Gnu unifont is not available for Java applications?
Hello. For my situation Gnu Unifont is the only acceptable fixed-width font for my jedit. All other western fonts lack Chinese ideograph, all other Chinese fonts have extremely ugly (not hinted nor smoothen) alphabetics. But this font is not listed in the Jedit font selection dialogue. I am not sure why, but jedit can show a list of fonts, with almost all the system fonts available to choose, missing ONLY Gnu Unifont. Is it possible/easy to configure JRE/Jedit to use Gnu Unifont? -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Hi Zhang Weiwu! I asked this question on IRC with the jEdit developers/community. First two responses: "you can play around with the fontconfig.properties in jre/lib" "If you can select Gnu Unifont from java, you can get it from jEdit" Note: if you've installed the IRC client plug-in for jEdit, you can open it from the plug-in menu, do a /CONNECT jEdit and you can chat with the jEdit community about this directly. There are usually a few of them online (it's a big community) hth & regards, Carl P.S.: Dog treat: X--X -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Ah, thank you for the quick response. I'll check fontconfig.properties. If there have been no great firewall of China, I would have asked it on IRC. Having IRC blocked is the pain in the xxx, for sure, only when you are in China. -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
