Hi, I have managed to maka java applets in Konqueros, but I try to access Gmail capabilities, i get the following message: Browser Requirement: ActiveX Gmail requires ActiveX controls to be enabled Your browser seems to be Internet Explorer, and ActiveX seems to be disabled. Gmail's standard view requires ActiveX to be enabled in order to operate. To use Gmail's standard view, enable ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer. You can do this by going to the Tools menu, selecting Internet Options, Security tab, Internet zone, and either select the Default Level, or selecting Custom Level and scrolling down to "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" and selecting Enable. After enabling ActiveX controls, try again. To use Gmail's basic HTML view, which does not require ActiveX, click here. You've set the browser id (useragent) in konqueror to be IE. Google's only doing what it thinks is right based on this. John

I only ever use the basic view for Gmail what ever OS I am using. I can honestly say that I do not feel in any way deprived :-) -- ============================================== I am only human, please forgive me if I make a mistake it is not deliberate. ============================================== Xmas may be over but, PLEASE DON'T drink and drive you'll make it to the next one that way. is it possible to set konq's useragent to firefox? FF is fully supported and does not require active X As for basic mode ... it is fine, but quite awkward. Address book completion is one thing that does not work, and is no end of irritation to me! Now, if only we could get google to add a "reply to list" keyboard short-cut or toolbar button .... ;-)

(...) I use Konqueror 3.5.1 (SUSE 9.3) and set agent id to Firefox. I can access Gmail without problems. HTH. Regards. -- Alfredo Cole-Tuckler
