[opensuse] Links in Thunderbird don't open in Firefox
Suse 10.2, KDE 3.5 (or gnome 2.16), TB and FF at 2.0.0.6. When I click a link in an email message in TB, nothing happens--doesn't matter whether FF is running or not. No FF window opens to handle the request. Any help appreciated. Ed Harrison -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi Ed and list, -my ten cents... - in the URL line of FF, give: about:config - and see what happens :-) -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard Novell Certified Linux Professional 10035701 www.os-academy.dk -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

As far as I know you need to have an extension called Launchy (now at
ver 4.2.0) installed. You install a copy in TB which will reference FF,
and a copy in FF to reference TB.
The control file(s) are to be found in /.

Thunderbird usually tries to start what is set in gconf as http handler. You can verify with "gconf-editor" and see desktop/gnome/url-handler/http If there is set Firefox it should work (and actually does for me). If not it could be that your Thunderbird config is changed and you should see a setting for network.protocol-handler.external.http in the advanced config. Try adding these lines to prefs.js file: user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.http", "/usr/bin/firefox"); user_pref("network.protocol-handler.app.https", "/usr/bin/firefox"); Or have a look here: http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Integrate_Thunderbird_and_Firefox Hope this helps. -- Regards Scott Newton -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
