-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Linuxlookup.com has a somewhat unfavorable review of 8.0 at the link below. I found the review strange as the author seems to indicate that almost everything worked fine, and what problems cropped up, he mostly managed to solve. In the end, he still rates 8.0 rather low. All I can figure is that he likes Mandrake and Red Hat a lot more or has had significantly better experiences with those. I haven't tried those, but have a hard time imagining they could install and run any more smoothly than SuSE 8.0 has for me. Do people really expect to install a full-OS without the tiniest little hickup? In my experience, installing SuSE 8.0 goes more smoothly than any Windows upgrade I ever tried! No so many things wrong for such poor marks. Quite ironically I have been with Mandarake since their 8.0 distribution and have come back to SuSE with this version being so polished. After installing SuSE 8 and running it for about 4 weeks I decided I'd go back to Mandarke as I thought it was better. After installing Mnadrake I realised that it had a lot of tweaks for me to use it (especially ADSL in order to get it running) and the fonts look ugly upon intall which then required a bit of tweaking. When I whent back to Md8.2 it wasn't I found that it wasn't quite as polished as I had previously thought (since I was now used to SuSE 8) so I reinstalled SuSE. I like the tight integration of SuSE's control center features. In fact there was very little twaeking in SuSE apart from setting numlock (which is simple and the wheel mouse which was simple to fix). Nev ------------------ Brian W. Carver wrote:
