While I was configuring my desktop as root using the kde control center, kde crashed .I can only now run kde normally as user but when trying to run it as root it will not display any output.I get the initial screen detailing kde loading (with the customary red background) but at the end all I get is a red screen output with nothing else. Any pointers as to what may be wrong, and whether I should try experimenting with the settings of certain kde configuration files would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Josef
I had a problem like that in 7.2 I copied the .X* and .xinitrc and .xsessions files from a user into /root and changed their ownership. I also made a copy in a subdir under root just incase. JLK On Thursday 06 December 2001 11:15, josef wrote:
