I have several entries in fstab to mount a windows share via smbfs. This works fine, but can only be performed when I'm logged in as root. How can I alter this?

Yes, add the "users" word in your fstab. Or you could use something like LinneighborHood, but you shoud do a "chmod u+s /usr/bin/smbmnt" and the same to smbumount. Praise
