Suspending delivery of posts to this list
Hi, OK, maybe I am in stupid mode, or missed a faq or something, but is there a way to temporarily suspend delivery of posts to this list when I go on vacation ? Thanks, Geoff _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com

You unsubscribe when you go away and resubscribe when you come back. It sounds more awkward than it really is. Paul

Yes, I guess so - it just seems kind of inelegant. Also, I have a (possibly false), impression that, having been on the list for quite a while, I am closer to the top of it and that things come through quicker than they used to. Anyway, I will find out soon because if I do not unsubscribe I will exceed my mailbox limit for sure when I go away. That's nice to know. I guess that the list as a whole just got quicker over time. Regards, Geoff _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com

Could be that I replaced the old server 2 month ago with a new one. -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort." -- A. P. J.

Well, I was wondering about this myself as I intend to go on vacation for two weeks. But my real purpose for this posting is to say, "Hey Mads, I like the web page especially the mug shots." :-)
I could have swore I heard a conversation on one of my mailing lists about this. If my memory serves me correct, there is a program that can manage your E-mail while you are on vacation, and I belive that program even has the word vacation in it. Since I am very poor : - P and cannot afford to go any furthur than the park up the street, I didn't pay no attention to these postings, but I know theres something, I just don't remember. I saw that too - maybe on Freshmeat. I think I would need to leave my computer up and running though, and I generally power down the entire house whilst I am away. Yeah, I would probably do the same thing. I think unsubscribing to the list would be your best bet. -- -------------------------------------- David M.
