Hi, I made a big mistake. I was trying to update my windows configuration to xp for my wife and it erased my grub and now I am not able use Linux and all my stuff is there, could someone tell me how to restore my old MBR or how to boot linux so I could configure and install grub again.

Jose Well there is more than one way to do this. You can use the rescue system or you can start the installation process again. Keep anwsering
