I've been having trouble with X11. Specifically, while trying to utilize a library written in the Euphoria Programming Language which uses libX11.so: linux:/usr/X11R6/lib # ls libX11* libX11.so. libX11.so.6 libX11.so.6.2 linux:/usr/X11R6/lib # ln -s libX11.so /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 ln: creating symbolic link `/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6' to `libX11.so': File exists in the following line "exu" is the Euphoria interpreter and "x_demo.exu" is the source code file: exu x_demo.exu Can not open library libX11.so I've obviously screwed up something on my system regarding X11, Royally. First of all, you have the command backwards. The syntax is ln TARGET LINK so try ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 libX11.so Secondly, you will get that symlink automatically by installing the package xorg-x11-devel
