vi mode support in mysql
Running SuSE 9.3 recently upgraded from 9.1. Just noticed that "vi mode" support is not working in mysql. This worked in 9.1. To get into vi mode I press <esc>, <enter>. Has anyone else noticed this?

That's probably because MySQL 4.1 by default compiles against the
libedit input library now, while older versions used libreadline.
I've already filed a bug report about this to revert this change.
You can resolve it yourself by recompiling the MySQL src.rpm by adding
the option "--with-readline" to the configure options in the RPM spec file.
Alternatively, use the 4.1.12 RPMs provided on dev.mysql.com - they work
on SUSE 9.3, too.
