Astonishing. IE doesn't even pretend it's somehow all your fault. It tells you the _program_ made an illegal error and you should contact the vendor (ROFL). Then it suggests that if the problem persists, you should reboot. If this was a konq bug, we'd have an online update yesterday. On the plus side, I've just discovered I can use IE in win4lin with apache2 on localhost; so I can actually test web pages in IE. I was beginning to think it wasn't worthwhile installing win4lin because there aren't any applications that run better on Windows any more. -- JDL Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.

Just remember to add <input type bye> to your web pages. ROFL. Cheers, Curtis. P.S. I "still" can't stop snickering. I wonder what happens if I pass this in the Tribes2 chat line? Umm, I wait on that one (hehehe). -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+tie97WVLiDrqeksRAg8VAKCgZfpE5OJiJSUy3Z6xCRMxrWEtAgCgxs3A LPd6nsDPugMjKq2nlqKp7ZY= =ZhI5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
Hi all: Just wanted to post my 12-hours worth of first impressions of SuSE 8.2 Pro with the collective. 1) Upgrading from 8.0 to 8.2, I was lucky in catching the fact that the Upgrade option was going to remove Star Office 5.2. I don't use the program enough to warrant upgrading (and paying) for 6.0, but not really happy that the default option was to blow away the program. Spending some time going line-by-line through the package selections is highly recommended. 2) Would have been nice to have been told to take out CD1 before the first reboot. 3) While I'm happy that I have been finally successful in loading my Nvidia drivers for the 3D games, I'm currently trying to figure why I am only now suddenly having KVM-related issues. Whenever my girlfriend switches over to her Windoze XP machine, and I later switch back to my Linux box (with my manual KVM switch box), the mouse goes berserk. Only fix has been killing the X-server and doing a startx command. Ideas? 4) In addition, Konqueror is displaying one of my favorite php-based websites with fonts way-too damn big for comfort. I have the Settings / Configure Konqueror / Appearence set for Arial font and 12 pitch, but doesn't seem to change anything. Thoughts? So far, I'm still in the "looking around" phase of exploring 8.2, but the mere fact that it did not blow away my Samba, network, or network printer settings, nor my /home directory, is a big plus in my book. Cheers, Todd

I have the same issue with version 8.1, Nvidia driver and KVM. Instead of killing X, I just switch to the console and then back to X (i.e. C-A-F1 followed by C-A-F7). This cures the erratic mouse until the next time I switch the KVM. THis also happens if ya switch over to a virtual console and run MC, then hit CTRL+ALT+F7 to switch back... Seems to be a bug with the nvidia drivers... Pagan On Sunday 04 May 2003 22:46, Avi Schwartz wrote:

Oh my <expletive deleted> God. Are you serious <input type pick a word> is all it takes to bring IE, Outluck, an-afrontPage, etc.. down. Oh dear. I just crashed about a 1000 some programs. (lol). oops.. as i was saying.. the problem seems to be if the form/input tag is not inside the body tags. the example i've seen most is: <html> <form> <input type crash> </form> </html> supposedly, if you put the form inside the body tags, ie doesn't crash. (can't test myself.. no windows) -- trey
