As you can see everything looks like it should work. I can ping my wireless ip (from another pc on the network) only when my laptop is ALSO connected through cat5. As soon as I take out my cat5..nothing. It's something really funky!! I have no idea what to do next. I pretty confident this is a Suse bug...

Jeffrey, I have a similar issue and have tried everything you wrote. I updated to 1.0.1 driver and the issue persists. I get a signal strength of ultimate and set everything up correctly (essid/encryption/etc) but it's still not working. I can't even ping my router ip! I have even added default gateway with no luck :(
What do "ifconfig eth1" and "iwconfig eth1" and "route -n" show? Can you turn encryption off at the AP? Is the result the same?
