OT How run program in another PC
Hi, my home internet is slow so I have trouble to download bigger files. But I have access to another PC in work via SSH with good internet. I would like to run wget command on that PC and disconnect leaving it working in bakground and getting files. How can I do that? Thank You. Audrius

'man wget' might be interesting. Just add '-b' to the parameter list to wget. Then you can log off and it will keep running in the background.

Thank You. I knew about 'man wget', and parameter '-b' but was not sure about it ;-) . How about the same in 'rsync'? Thank You for answer. Audrius

Try looking into 'nohup' or 'screen' -Nick -- <<< Welcome to the real world. >>> /`-_ Nicholas R. LeRoy The Condor Project { }/ http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~nleroy http://www.cs.wisc.edu/condor \ / nleroy@cs.wisc.edu The University of Wisconsin |_*_| 608-265-5761 Department of Computer Sciences

From the command line: nohup <command> & That will leave <command> running in the background after you logout. -- Jim Sabatke Hire Me!! - See my resume at http://my.execpc.com/~jsabatke Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
