Re: [SLE] Edit Boot Load after 2.6 installation
PLEASE reply to the list and not me

If you installed from rpm, there's no need to do anything.
If not, you add the file you copied to /boot/grub/menu.lst
I did install from RPM's, and re-booted but no signs of a 2.6 entry. After logging in I executed "uname -r" and it said "2.4.21-10?". Do I have to edit the boot file by hand?
ls -l /boot/*26* Then you copy the linux entry and make a similar 2.6 entry, but with different title and the vmlinuz and initrc replaced with the ones from the listing above. Guys--in general you should read some docu before messing around with kernels. -- Mads Martin Joergensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogical, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A.
