[SLE] Netscape: Multiple mail accounts
Hello chaps, confessing to ignorance, but can anybody tell me how to get Netscape to pick up multiple pop3-accounts. Running 4.7 on Suse 6.3 Thanks Dan ----------------------------------------------------------- ~ WEBDIREKT INTERNET SERVICE GMBH ~ ~ the e-business intelligence company ~ ----------------------------------------------------------- ~ Dieselstr. 5 Fon: (+49) 6173 / 9359-88 ~ ~ D-61476 Kronberg Fax: (+49) 6173 / 9359-59 ~ ~ http://www.webdirekt.de mailto:sysop@webdirekt.de ~ ----------------------------------------------------------- -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Sir, Well, Netscape doesn't do multi-pop yet. I would suggest 1 of 3 solutions to your problem ... 1. Postilion 2. Kmail 3. Mutt+fetchmail+MTA (qmail, sendmail or postfix) I am sure one of these solutions will provide you with what you want. You can also look at linuxberg.com for a mail agent that will suit your needs.

OK I found mutt, I can find fetchmail in the man pages and in /usr/doc but where is th rest of it? The man page says to look for fetchmailconf. I can't find it either. I can't find it in the packages, and there is no mention of it in the 6.2 manual. Which is the preferred MTA? -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

I am using mutt, and don't use fetchmail. Mutt allows you to retrieve mail off of a pop host. You may already have sendmail installed and Yast can do most of the work to set up sendmail. /david/ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

package pop ensible config examples start round line 1696 in man fetchmail tried fetchmailconf since I never heared of that. But it failed to run, something is missing on my system. I never botherd and used the examples from the man page to set it up. On newer SuSEs it's in a separate package -- fetchml. Ciao, Stefan -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
