Ok. I've installed MozillaFirebird. How do I make it do something, like run?
Don Henson
When you unpacked the package in which Firebird came, you created a directory, MozillaFirebird, in which the Firbird executable file was put. That file is called MozillaFirebird. So, you call up MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird (if you are in the directory to which MozillaFirebird is a subdirectory)
Good luck

Something must have gone awry. I can follow the path all the way to the MozillaFirebird directory but the only file in it is named Mozilla. I may just try a reinstall. Don Henson

You could just get the gtk2+xft enabled tar.gz file from mozilla.org and uncompress it in /opt then make a short cut to the executable. I'm using the nightly from 11/30 from mozilla.org of Firebird and it works fine on SUSE 9.0...that is unless your hellbent on having an rpm. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===--- #147972 ---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org -- Why do we bother with a suicide watch when someone is on death row? Actually, I was only looking at firebird in case I couldn't get Galeon going again. Now that Galeon is okay, I'm content to wait for a stable version. I'm guessing that my firebird problem is related to my Galeon problem also, given that they are both based on Mozilla. Don Henson

Nope. Mozilla Firebird stands on it's own and doesn't require anything else to run. I've removed all other browsers from my machine with the acception of Konq which is built into KDE and Mozilla Firebird. I've had no issues with Firebird running at all. I've also been using Firebird on my Powerbook instead of Safari (Konqueror) and it's preformed quite nicely. I'm not sure why Firebird was giving you such a hard time..it shouldn't have. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===--- #147972 ---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org -- Why do we bother with a suicide watch when someone is on death row? Once I get caught up on some real work, I'll have another go at installing it. Don Henson
