I have downloaded and installed (with rpm -Uvh) the xFree 4.0.3 updates for SuSE 7.1. Trouble is, having done that the only WM I can start eithere manually or via KDM ie KDE (I have 2.1.2). It was OK before I changed to the new xFree. Can somebody tell me where to start looking to put this right ? Thanks Mike
The update rpm did not include a shell script called "wmlist". Get it at: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.0.3-SuSE/wmlist copy and change its permissions so it reads: $ ls -l /usr/X11R6/bin/wmlist -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 461 May 23 04:46 /usr/X11R6/bin/wmlist Then, run SuSEconfig. you whould get a list of wms now. -- Rafael
Rafael Thank you. I did as you said, and now I have my list of wms back. BTW can you tell me where to get SuSE kernel 2.4.3 ? Thanks again Mike On Monday 28 May 2001 16:56, Rafael Herrera wrote:

You can go to the ftp site and look in /pub/mantel and there are 2.4.4 rpm's now. I installed it and it works fine. I will say this. It installs itself in /boot as vmlinuz and not vmlinuz_24 as 2.4.2 did..so if you want to keep your 2.2.X kernel around..rename it and it's files. It works wonderfully. -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.
