I'm just getting into XML and was wondering what good XML editors are out there for Linux. I checked my 7.3 disks, but nothing jumped out at me. Much obliged... There is kxmleditor. I don't how powerfull it is. Look at apps.kde.com (I believe it is). -- Richard Bos Microsoft merges technologoies: Windows CE + Windows ME + Windows NT = Windows CEMENT
I had a look: the download pages are under http://kxmleditor.sourceforge.net/ and there are suse rpms. 0.72 is a port to kde3 (so I guess best for 8.0), and I've just installed 0.71 onto 7.3/kde2.2.1 Haven't checked it out yet, but then I don't know xml well enough to assess the software. Komodo is at: http://activestate.com/Products/Komodo/ And requires licensing fees of various kinds. Best to all Fergus On Thursday 09 May 2002 08:35, you wrote:

Good question. I do a lot of XML work and I can't find a decent Linux based XML editor anywhere. If I want to do something more complex than xemacs can handle, I use Windows tools in Vmware. It's a horrible thing to say, bearing in mind that XML is about openness, etc., but for XML work Windows is a much superior platform than Linux. -- 8:57am up 9 days, 23:10, 1 user, load average: 0.02, 0.03, 0.03
How about Komodo? Derek Fountain wrote:

are you serious ? Emacs with psgml addon is the best option in my point of view. On the otherhand "xmlmind" could be an alternative . But whats yu get used to emacs+psgml I do not think any other solution is good. Also you may want to have a look at alphaworks.ibm.com there are some nice tools for xml xslt and xml schema (Xeena) is one of them) -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx
Seriously: emacs with the psgml package. On 9 May 2002, James Ogley wrote:

Fellow SuSErs, Dont all rush off now !! But take a glance at http://www.redhat.com/software/linux/upgrade_rebate.html Hahahahahahahaha...... even if I got offered all the monies, I've paid for SuSE versions so far..... Thanks, but no thanks. Though, I can see the desperate, yet funny side. SuSE must be reaching places in North America. Well done, Guys and Gals. -- Kemdi IN_SuSE_d Since 5.2 123792 of counter.li.org ICQ:112290572
