Hi all I am using SuSEfirewall2 and PopTop-pptp on a 8.2 SuSE box. My external users must access my internal network and Internet(NAT) from ppp( pptp ) When a client connects to the box via pptp I have to restart manually the SuSEfirewall2 to rewrite the rules with the new interface...( ppp0 ) ( if I don't restart the firewall the client is not forwarded and can't access internet ) How can I tell to the firewall to rewrite the rules each time a new interface is Up? sorry, my english is poor :) Javier Omellla -------------- Asuncion - Paraguay

That should be automatically done by the /etc/ppp/ip-up script unless you have changed something. I didn't have /etc/ppp/ip-up file, so I create it with this inside: #!/bin/sh PATH=/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin export PATH /sbin/SuSEfirewall2 start It works perfectly! Thank you JOE! - I think I touched it :o) Jota Omella

Well, it might solve that problem, but you may discover others. joe@jmorris:~> rpm -qf /etc/ppp/ip-up sysconfig-0.23.27-11 You should install sysconfig package. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM.
