php4-recode seems to be required for lots of packages (cdda-wav, pkgconfig, gtk2-devel). The problem is that it breaks apache2 at the moment under 9.1. Is there some way to resolve this dependency without forcing an install of php4-recode? -- Stephen If your desktop gets out of control easily, you probably have too much stuff on it that doesn't need to be there. Where do you see that? I can't see that those packages require php4-recode

You can install php4-recode, and then remove the line with "extension=recode.so" from php.ini. Then php4-recode is installed but not used and doesn't harm anymore. Peter
