My soffice52 just hangs shortly after the splash screen is displayed. I've rebooted and removed the office.lck file but it seems like there is somthing else that need to be removed. I beleive a converted MS user has been double clicking on his desktop and this is what has me hosed. Does anyone remember what I've got to do get it unlocked??? Thanks in advance Mark

Kind regards,
Using kde2.1.1. I ended up moving the users office52 dir out of the way then doing a fresh workstation install then copying all the users files back in. It's up and running again. Thanks all
I have SuSE 7.1, using KDE 2.0.1. I attempted to upgrade KDE to 2.1.1 using the rpms from the SuSE web site. Installed them using Yast1. Installation went OK without a hitch. However, when I rebooted and X was starting up, I got an error message saying something to the effect that dcopserver wasn't running. And it hangs there. Can't do anything else with it. Surely someone out there knows the fix for this. Thanks

First thing to check: Did you really install *all* the KDE2 rpms that you needed? Including the QT libraries? You don't have to install QT experimental though... Matt
As I recall, the main thing is, DON'T install qt-experimental from
that directory. What is it doing there? I don't know.
Make sure you install in the recommended order -- kdesupport, kdelibs,
kdebase. That's all that I remember.
You may have problems with *.fon fonts, and you may have to remove
them from your truetype directory. You may have to turn anti-aliasing
off, and rebuild your truetype directory before enabling it again.

Maybe that's the problem. I remember that I did install qt-experimental. Well. what do I do now?

rpm -e qt-experimental Matt PS Reinstall the other QT's and let SuSEconfig do its stuff
You're better off than I am - I don't use Gnome or Kde - I use Reflexion X
on a windows machine. I can't even figure out how to start it, all the
instructions assume that it is displayed on your desktop!
