How can I create a bootable CD with k3b?
(i) Acquire an image of the whole CD; then (ii) burn it. I don't know how to make such an image, I'm afraid. As for getting one, the way my copy of Konqueror is (mis)configured, when it downloads an *.iso file it plonks it in a temporary directory. Fishing around for it is then a slight irritation. Mozilla, by contrast, offers to download it as it offers to download most binary files. You burn it in k3b by hitting Alt-TW (Tools | Write ISO image).
hi creating boot image from a 1.44" bootable floppy is as simple as dd if=/dev/fd0 of=boot.img bs=18k then include it in k3bs boot image list while creating new cd regards ,himba Dne sreda 23. julija 2003 23:57 je Jose Thadeu Cavalcante napisal(a):

While you are at it, how do you burn the five boot disks (1 boot + 4 modules) onto ONE bootable CD? Thanks Fx -- ______________________ Courtesy of SuSE Linux http://www.nibz.org

Is this an academic exercise? If not, why not just grab the boot.iso that's already been prepared for you by SuSE? If it is, I suspect you'd first have to rewrite the installer so it knows where to look for the modules, then mount the floppy images, copy the contents to an iso image and burn it.
Does this particular method have any limits or dependencys.
I know Freedos.ORG makes a bootable CD. So I could either use theirs and
an eltorito driver or try my own.
As I remember the ElTorito is not exactly universal but neither is the so
called Universal Atapi Driver having tried both on different machines.
One box having a LiteON CDRW which booted the Freedos but not the UAD.
On the other one it booted both UAD and Freedos.
