Hi! I know there is always a lot of different programs that can do the same thing. Whatever, I'm wondering about which FTP server to use? What are the recommendations? I must have an FTP Server running on my system and I don't know which one to use. What do you think about that? Which one are you using? How to decide about that? Thanks for your help _________________________________________________________________ Discutez en ligne avec vos amis, essayez MSN Messenger : http://messenger.msn.com
Hi, On my laptop when I need to open an FTP server temporarily for quick file transfers, I use Pure-FTPd it is quick and easy to use. Its preferences are set via command line arguments which makes it ideal for mobile uses (i.e. can set "no anonymous" by using -E, or trusted IPs by -v [ip block]). For a full time ftp server that is set to be on 24/7 you might want to try the more robust wu-ftp. It has better config files and a myriad of options, but needs a little more time to set up initially. But that's just me. : -----Original Message----- : From: martinr_richard@msn.com [mailto:martinr_richard@msn.com] : Sent: Friday, May 03, 2002 9:58 PM : To: suse-linux-e@suse.com : Subject: [SLE] FTP, which? : : : Hi! : : I know there is always a lot of different programs that can do the same : thing. : Whatever, I'm wondering about which FTP server to use?
