After all the initial problems with the cd version of the hated zmd, I got enough updates manually installed that the updater worked well for a week or so. It even installed things properly if not very quickly (much slower than the old you -- I'm on a fast cable connection). However, today I have a large number of new updates to install (kernel, kernel-smp, etc.) and it chokes and dies with a timeout after downloading a many megabytes. I've restarted zmd and had the same result several times so it's not a one time problem. Here is the end of the zmd-messages log: 14 Sep 2006 18:09:08 INFO RedCarpetBackend+RCTransactionProgress 14 Sep 2006 18:09:09 INFO RedCarpetBackend Loading installed packages 14 Sep 2006 18:09:15 INFO RedCarpetBackend Finished loading installed packages 14 Sep 2006 18:09:15 INFO RedCarpetBackend Updating status of patches... 14 Sep 2006 18:09:21 INFO RedCarpetBackend Finished updating patch status 14 Sep 2006 18:09:22 ERROR Transaction Transaction failed: Need media 1: Curl error for: http://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/update/10.1/rpm/x86_64/kernel-source-2.6.16.21-...: Error code: Timeout reached Error message: Callback aborted Any ideas? I guess I can download the updates manually, but I thought zmd was all fixed (if it's not, then lets hope they don't issue the respin ISO).
