[opensuse] I messed up my desktop
Guys, I messed up. I was playing around with the desktop preferences and now I've ended up with the ugliest thing imaginable. All the toolbar icons are yellow on blue. The background to everything is deep blue. The KDE menu seems to have fonts of about 18 point, and I can't find a way to change everything back. Is there any way I can change back to the default settings? I really must hide the foot gun. Hi Peter Can you go to the Personal Desktop Settings screen again, choose 'Appearance and Themes', then 'Theme Manager', then choose 'SuSE Default' or 'Redmond' or something? This should get most of the main settings back to reasonable setting. From there, you can start to play again :) Cheers Pete -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

And, if that does not work, moving ~/.kde to another location and restarting X or logging out, then back in, will give you the default. the ~/.kde directory will be regenerated. The reason to 'move' rather than just delete is to be able to recover items you wish or find that you need. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 OpenSUSE Linux http://en.opensuse.org/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks Pete and Patrick. It's all back together again - in fact slightly improved if anything. Sometimes I think I'm not fit to have a computer. Sometimes other people agree with me. Thanks again. Hi Peter, - I'm afried this applies (not fit to have a computer...) to a lot of us, it does for me :-) - that phrase about the foot gun is wonderful, I'll print it out and stick it to the wall :-) -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Med venlig hilsen/Best regards Verner Kjærsgaard -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
