Point/decimal comma on the numeric keyboard in OpenOffice
Is it possible to make OpenOffice get a point or comma whenever the point on the numeric keyboard is pressed, according to the language setup of OO? In other words: In Spanish and other languages, we use a comma to separate the decimal in numbers; but when I press the decimal point in the numeric keyboard I get a point, not a comma as it should be, forcing my to type numbers on one side, fast, and then move the hand over to the comma on the alphabetic keyboard, thus slowing number entry a lot. Even more: is it possible to correct this for OpenOffice only, not for the whole X session? Alternatively: is it possible to use Spanish international settings in OpenOffice, but use decimal points? Ie, customise the Spanish setings of OO. -- Saludos Carlos Robinson

Because it IS a point, NOT a comma. -- Ken Schneider unix user since 1989 linux user since 1994 SuSE user since 1998

So? In excel, in Spain, it is a comma. In Spanish usage, it must be a decimal comma, so I want that key to enter a comma, as is the correct thing to do in Spanish. Excel does it, and OpenOffice claims to be able to substitute M$ Office... (I don't have Excel, before you think I do) English $ 1,000.00 Spanish 1.000,00 Eur The numeric keyboard must also adapt to the default number format in use. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

The numeric keyboard must also adapt to the default number format in use. Maybe it wouldbe better to move this to the OpenOffice listserv: to subscribe, use this address: discuss-subscribe@openoffice.org -- Jerry Feldman
