Suse V8.0 and Handspring Treo?
Hi all, I just purchased a Handsrping Treo 300. I had to fire up Windows XP to hotsync and download some software via USB. Are there any Linux tools that I can download to control my PDA from Linux? I'd like to avoid using MS Windows if possible. Thanks.
hi, I have a Treo 180g (which died the other day - no voice working :P). It works with pilot-link and kpilot no problems at all. it identifies itself as a handspring visor. I'd have it working on here but it's dead. Hope this helps, - Chris. On Friday 27 December 2002 01:26, Juan Rayas wrote:

Hi Chris, Thanks for the info. I tried installing kpilot from the CDs and then upgrading to the latest RPM. When I attempt to run kpilot, it crashes at startup. Any ideas as to why? I have SuSE V8.0 Also, are there any other tools that I could use to talk to my Treo (assuming that kpilot doesn't work)? Thanks -Juan. On Thursday 26 December 2002 05:30 pm, Chris Smith wrote:

Hi, It's probably pilot-link thats crashing... Check to make sure that /dev/pilot exists. It's normally a static link to the serial port or usb device where the pilot is plugged in (see your kernel dmesg for where it's plugged in). Also check SuSE's KDE packages on their web site for updated kpilot / run YaST2 YOU to get the latest KDE build with kpilot as I think it's only the later ie 3.0.3+ builds that work properly. jPilot does the job too. should be on the cds somewhere. - Chris.
