Hi, I have just gone an ordered an Abit KT-7-100 motherboard for an upgrade to my system. Too late I checked the supported hardware at SuSe and found that the extent of support is the KA7 which has the "old" Via chipset. Can anyone with a Socket A Athlon with the Via KT133 chipset confirm that all will be sweetness and light when I boot linux after my rebuild. I wouldn't worry at all. Modern motherboards are generally well supported by all brands of Linux. The only thing that you will perhaps find missing is the access to the sensors on your motherboard. I believe, ABit is putting out their own brand of Linux (IIRC a stack-guarded version of RH) that has some additional (non-GPL'd) code to access the temperature sensor. I have the same board on order as well. Microstar K7T Pro (MS-6330) with Via 133 works just fine. On Wed, 23 Aug 2000, you wrote:
