[opensuse] Browser crashes after last update
Hi all, After latest update FF began to crash soon after its starting up. (BTW I cannot understand why they publish a major release in every month or so). I thought I would use Konqueror instead, but it turned out it also crashes. It complained about icedtea plugin and suggested to run "firefox -g" in a terminal. I did so and FF crashed without notice. Any similar experience out there? Best regards, Albert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I've seen crashing FF threads on multiple other mailing lists in recent days, Trinity Users today, others previously. Try removing Flash from the system to see if it helps. I've run 13 with 0 crashes on multiple systems, but few have Flash installed. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Thanks! I disabled flash, and serial crashes stopped. Albert Oszko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Sounds like a known issue. Firefox 13.0 + a loaded Flash object crashes Firefox almost immediately if the package libproxy1-pacrunner-mozjs is installed. Removing that one will most likely fix the issue. Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks! Removal of the above package healed FF completely. Disabling flash only reduced the number of crashes. Albert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Even the last Android version has the new Insta-Crash feature. Side note: I actually like FF on Android. At this particular instant its faster than Chrome on android, and smaller too. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
I downloaded the 64Bit version here
http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/13.0/linux-x86_...
Noscript and session manager are up to date.
openSUSE Firefox extension 1.0.2 is disabled.
No crashes so far.
Flash is installed with version 11.2.202.0 which is OK according to
https://www.mozilla.org/de/plugincheck/
Thunderbird can be found here:

Hello, normally, I use Flash Block add-on, but even I view Flash (Youtube, ...), I don't experience any crashes. FF 13.0. Best regards, Vojtěch Dne 11.6.2012 21:48, Peter Maffter napsal(a):
